Doug’s practice concentrates on representing and advising employers in regard to employment law and human resources matters. He works extensively in the areas of EEO and Affirmative Action as well as assisting employers in developing human resource programs, policies and procedures that enhance a company’s bottom-line. He also provides management and supervisory training on a broad range of employment matters. In addition, he provides general employment law and human resources advice on dealing with day-to-day employment related issues that arise in the workplace.
Doug’s primary area of practice is EEO/Affirmative Action. With regard to EEO/Affirmative Action, he represents employers before administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, and various state and local Fair Employment Practices agencies. In addition, he prepares Affirmative Action Programs for employers as well as helping employers audit their current affirmative action compliance. He also trains employers on preparing their own Affirmative Action Plans as well as establishing audit programs to monitor the results of their Affirmative Action efforts.
Doug has experience in both the private and public sectors in a variety of human resources, educational and compliance related positions. Before going into practice, he worked in human resources for both the BF Goodrich Co. and TRW Inc. in corporate and plant environments. In addition, he has over 30 years of experience in the areas of Affirmative Action and EEO.
He is a graduate of Capital University Law School and the University of Michigan. He is a member of the American, Ohio, Cleveland and Geauga County Bar Associations as well as the Society of Human Resource Management. Doug has served as Co-Chair of the Board of Directors for United Way Services of Geauga County.
