Dec 22, 2014

The Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park has elected Thomas E. Green as its new Chair of the Board of Directors. Green began a two-year term on December 15, replacing Lee Chilcote, whose term expired.

Green is an attorney and shareholder at Kastner Westman & Wilkins, LLC, an Akron-based labor and employment law firm, representing management. He has served in several volunteer capacities for the Conservancy for CVNP since 2007, including the Board of Directors (since 2010), Executive Committee, Human Resources Committee chair, pro bono employee relations counsel and Strategic Planning Lead Team, among others.

The Boston Heights resident also serves as president of the Fairlawn Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and is a graduate of Leadership Akron (Class 28).

“It’s my privilege to lead the Conservancy Board for the next two years, and working together with the National Park Service, Conservancy staff, and other key players, I anticipate we’ll serve the national park and Conservancy membership with the diligence and professionalism everyone affiliated with this organization deserves,” Green said.

The Conservancy for CVNP, a membership organization which serves as the nonprofit partner and friends group of the national park, boasts 3,400 members dedicated to the enhancement and preservation of the park.
