Conversations About Racial Equity

Kastner Westman & Wilkins, LLC

At this time in our nation’s history, we believe that reasonable and responsible people ought to be talking about racial injustice and inequity.  Recent events are likely challenging each of us personally and/or professionally.  The current climate is impacting our clients as well.

  • Within KWW. Beginning in June 2020, we began holding such conversations within our own workplace. These conversations have proved to be meaningful, inspiring, and another important step in our D&I journey.
  • For our clients. As a direct outgrowth of our internal conversations, beginning in August 2020, we started offering a special Rise & Learn session for our clients entitled, “How to have effective conversations with your employees about racial equity in the workplace.” Offered at no charge, this session provides an overview of why having such conversations in our workplaces is so important, including considerations related to fostering workplaces committed to diversity, inclusion, equity, and opportunity; a review of best practices in planning for and conducting these conversations; and an opportunity for the attendees to discuss among themselves issues related to racial inequity.
