Harley M. Kastner
(1949 – 2008)
Harley obtained his law degree from the University of Akron School of Law in 1973 and served as Assistant General Counsel of the United Rubber Workers International Union until 1975. In 1975, he was appointed General Counsel of the URW and remained there until 1978, when he entered private practice.
Harley’s law practice was devoted to traditional labor, contract negotiations, arbitration, and strategic labor planning, all of which he loved. A significant portion of his practice was tied to major chemical and polymer companies and their employment and labor relations. Harley was strongly committed to his clients, and with their extraordinary support and dedication, Kastner Westman & Wilkins LLC was founded in January 2000.
Harley’s legacy lives on through the Harley & Carol Kastner Scholarship Fund at the University of Akron School of Law.
