Kastner Westman & Wilkins attorney Amanda Smith has been appointed as Chairperson for the Labor and Employment Section of the Akron Bar Association.
“I’m honored that the other members of the Labor and Employment Section have chosen me for this position and look forward to working with them and representing KWW in this role,” Smith said.
Smith has been a member of the Akron Bar Association since 2014. In her position as Chairperson, she will lead the Labor and Employment Section in a number of respects, including in the planning of the Bar Association’s annual Labor and Employment Law Seminar.
Smith is a graduate of the University of Akron School of Law and has been employed with KWW since 2013.
She represents employers in many types of labor and employment matters, including charges before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Ohio Civil Rights Commission and other state fair employment practice agencies.
Smith also counsels employers on litigation, arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution matters, as well as wage/hour compliance, performance and leave management, discipline, and workplace policies.
