Jan 3, 2017

Kastner Westman & Wilkins, LLC (KWW), a boutique labor and employment law firm representing management exclusively, has elected attorney Jaime Umerley Kolligian as shareholder.

Jaime has spent her entire legal career at KWW, and in that time has been involved in all aspects of the firm’s employment defense practice, including employment litigation, workers’ compensation and traditional labor.

KWW’s clients range from Fortune 500 companies to smaller regional businesses, and include both local institutional employers and public sector entities. The firm was established in 2000 and currently employs 15 attorneys.

In her role at KWW, Jaime routinely advises private and public sector employers on employee relations matters, including leave management issues concerning ADA and FMLA compliance. Jaime also assists employers in defending complex employment lawsuits, as well as in responding to administrative charges before the EEOC, NLRB, OSHA and other state administrative agencies.

“Jaime makes it a point to understand the client’s business objectives, and works tirelessly to ensure those interests are met in spite of whatever barriers the law sets in place,” said Keith L. Pryatel, KWW shareholder.

“Jaime is a fierce advocate for her clients, and a trusted and respected asset to the firm and the Greater Akron community,” said James P. Wilkins, KWW shareholder.

Jaime spearheaded efforts to form KWW’s Rise & Learn human resources management training initiative in 2015, which features regular CLE and HR accredited workshops and customizable training programs. She is a certified specialist in labor and employment law by the Ohio State Bar Association, and a 2016 Women of Professional Excellence Award recipient.

Jaime earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Otterbein College in 2003, and her law degree with honors from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, Cleveland State University, with a concentration in labor and employment law, in 2007.

Jaime grew up on Cleveland’s west side, where most of her family still lives. She now resides in Copley with her husband Scott and their two young children. She is very active in the Akron community, including serving as event co-chair with her husband for a charity cornhole tournament that the couple founded in 2010 to benefit children with special needs. Jaime also chairs the Cattle Baron’s Ball sponsorship committee to benefit the American Cancer Society, serves on the curriculum development committee for the Women’s Network of Northeast Ohio and is a proud alumna of Torchbearers.

“There can be no greater validation of your hard work than being recognized as an equal by those who have mentored you, and looked up to by your peers,” Jaime said. She is eager to assume her role as shareholder with KWW and to continue providing exceptional client service.
